Beth Morrissey Obituary

Carrollton, TX—Beth Ann (Frennier) Morrissey, 58, formerly of Plattsburgh, New York, passed
away after a lengthy illness, April 10, 2024.
She was born on September 23, 1965, daughter of Clarence and Agnes (LaFontaine) Frennier.
Beth graduated from Plattsburgh High School in 1984. She received her Bachelor of Science
degree in Community Health from SUNY Plattsburgh in 1988.
After marrying her sweetheart, Steven J. Morrissey formerly of Arlington, Massachusetts in
1994, they settled in Vermont, followed by a move to Tennessee and finally putting down their
roots in Texas.
Beth, a woman of faith, loved the Word of God. One of her favorite Bible verses was Psalm 18:2.
“The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge,
my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.”
Sweet, funny, loving, enjoyed comedy, laughter. Her favorite season was the Fall. She loved
Halloween, pumpkins, scary stories…Thanksgiving for when family gathered.
A multitalented, creative, and very caring person who gave the best hugs, Beth cherished time
with friends and family, but appreciated her alone time too. She embraced her adventurous side
by taking cruises and engaging in other travel. She even dreamed of skydiving one day. One
surprising detail you may not know is she once considered being a plumber. She was very good
with her hands and made hard to understand concepts simplified for others to grasp. It is no
doubt she could do whatever she put her mind to.
Beth had a big heart for people and animals. She had various cats and one beloved dog
throughout her life and took extra special care of all of them. If you ask family and friends what
they remember best about Beth, they would, hands down, refer to her zest for life, vivacious
laugh, and her smile that lit up a room. Her two favorite pastimes included gardening and baking.
Notably, she had flower gardens where ever she lived and cultivated a memorable pumpkin patch
in her parents’ garden for many years. Beth’s creativity was evident in many things she did. One
that comes to mind is her keen eye at capturing nature with her camera.
Beth was a beloved wife, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend. She will be immensely missed. We
will cherish our precious memories of her life cut way too short by illness.
Rest in peace sweet Beth.
Beth was predeceased by her parents, Agnes and Clarence Frennier, her mother-in-law, Sharon
Morrissey, and Steven’s grandmother, Mary Govoni.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Steven J. Morrissey, her brother-in- law John Morrissey,
her sister Mary (Frennier) Furlan, her brother-in-law, Philippe Furlan, her niece Stephanie
Furlan, nephew Nicolas Furlan and his wife and Beth’s niece, Annie Ho Furlan.

Steven would like to offer special thanks to Settlers Ridge Care Center in the North Collin and
Denton County region and Heart to Heart Hospice of North Dallas for all the good care they
gave his wife, Beth.
Beth’s final resting place will be in Carrollton, Texas. A private family Memorial/Celebration of
Life is planned for June 8 th in Champlain, NY, her mother Agnes’ hometown.
