ROUSES POINT-Beatrice Frances Jefferson

Bee was born in Champlain, on October 23, 1923, daughter of the late William
and Mary (Barker) Jefferson, she entered eternal life on June 13, 2016 at
the UVM Medical Center in Plattsburgh surrounded by her loving family.
Bee was a devoted sister to her only remaining sibling; Phyllis.
Bee was the oldest and Phyllis was the youngest of this remaining
generation.
Bee graduated from the first ever 8th grade class of Saint Patrick's school
in 1938, and from RPHS in 1942. After graduation, she went to work in the
family business, supporting her father's local IGA establishment. In 1943
Bee began her career at Ayerst Labatories, retiring after 41 years of
service.
Bee had many interests which included: art, antiques, travel and sports. She
loved all sports but the Yankees were her favorite and she followed them to
the end! She attended many World Series games in New York and other venues.
Unlike most retirees, Bee chose to do her traveling early in life. Her
travels took her to 48 states, Canadian Rockies and all the National Parks,
always accompanied by her dear friends. In 1978 she went to Europe and
visited several countries, including England, France and Italy. The high
point of that trip was while in Rome, she saw Pope Paul VI in his general
audience.
Bee was a past member of the Altar Rosary Society and St. Patrick's choir.
Bee was predeceased by her brothers, Bernard, Charles, and in 2014 by her
beloved brother, Thomas.
Also, her sisters, Helen Laramie and Rita Jefferson, her sister-in-law,
Shirley Jefferson, and her nephews, Dalton and Curtis Jefferson.
She is survived by her sister Phyllis, who lovingly cared for Bee in her
failing years. Also nieces and nephews: Paul and Debelaine Jefferson and
their children; Derrick and Kim Jefferson, Nicci and Stacey Bedard (Callie
and Callen); Brian Jefferson and his children Lance and Cortney; Mary and
Adel Maximos and their son, Christopher; Patti and Randy Trombly and their
children; Matthew, Benjamin, and Samuel; brother-in-law, George Laramie and
his children, J and Todd; and sister-in-law Beatrice Jefferson and her
children, Lynne and David.
Per Bee's wishes, there will be no calling hours. A mass of Christian burial
will be celebrated Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick's
Church in Rouses Point. Interment will be private and at the convenience of
the family at St. Mary's cemetery in Champlain.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Bee's name may be made to St. Patrick's
Church or the Rouses Point Rescue Squad.
