Carl LaDue Obituary

Carl Richard LaDue of Chazy passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at Meadowbrook Healthcare after a long struggle with strokes and Alzheimer’s.

Carl was born in Altona November 6, 1939, the son of William and Blanch (Clark) LaDue.  He attended Altona Central School.  He worked several jobs in his younger years.  Chazy Stone Products, Chazy Orchard and Carl Munson Trucking to name a few.  In 1968 he began to drive truck for Racine Milk Haulers and Cumberland Farms, then for Richard Eddy.  For 25 years, milk hauling was his way of life.  In 1993 he began driving for Harvey and Company until his retirement in 2008.  Driving truck was the job of his dreams and he was able to do it for 40 years.  After retirement, Carl was happy partying with friends and family.  Nothing made him happier than spending time with his kids, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He loved camping, casino trips, travelling, watching the Yankees and NASCAR.  He loved his Ford Trucks.  Carl enjoyed his morning coffee at the local restaurants with his friends.  Carl was a member of the Chazy Senior Club. 

Carl is survived by his wife of 58 and a half years, Shirley (Mesick) LADue and their two beautiful children.  A daughter, Beverly Monette and her husband Mark of Chazy and a son, Carl W. LaDue and his wife Rita of Chazy; two wonderful grandchildren, Rebecca LaHart and her husband Ken of Champlain and Nathan Monette of Chazy.  He also had two great grandchildren, Colton LaHart and Quinn LaHart of Champlain; two brothers in law, Frank Rabideau of Plattsburgh and Carl Munson of Chazy; sister and brother in law, Eldamour and Gladys Manor of Mooers Forks and a sister in law, Catherine Sabourin of Chazy.  Carl will be sadly missed by all his family, friends and his beloved cat, Baby as well as several nieces and nephews.

Carl was predeceased by his parents; three brothers, Harold, Earl and Alfred; four sisters, Pearl Munson, Joyce Manor, Doris LaBarge and Pauline Provost; as well as brothers in law, Kenneth Manor, Amos LaBarge, Lee Provost and Henry Sabourin; sisters in law, Rita, Faye and Myrtle LADue and Stella Rabideau.

Calling hours will be Friday, May 10, 2019 from 5:00-7:00 at the Ross Funeral Home in Mooers.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, May 11th at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Chazy.  Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
