Dorothy LaFave Obituary

Altona – Dorothy I. LaFave passed away on October 29, 2018 with her loving family by her side in the home she and her husband Bernard LaFave built and raised their four children.  Dorothy and Bernard spent 71 years of their life together, being married for 64 years on Nov. 13, 1954.

Dorothy was born on October 4, 1934 in a small house in Alder Bend, NY the daughter of Leo and Irene (Lashway) Bushey

Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family.

Dorothy was a loving, gentle woman who had a way of making each of us feel that we were her very favorite.  She was a homemaker who was always baking something good to eat.  Sunday dinners were something we all looked forward to, especially her roast beef and sliders, and she could bake the best homemade bread and donuts.  She loved going on four wheeler rides with her husband to look at the beauty in the woods.

Dorothy is survived by her four children, Wanda Surprenant, Beverly Garrand and her companion Joe Tutino, Tony (Kim) LaFave, and Sandy Boulerice and her companion Greg Caron.

Nine grandchildren, Bradley (Tricia) Surprenant, Tisha Surprenant, Jason Garrand, Jennifer (Joey) Aubrey, Nicholas LaFave, Miranda LaFave, Patrick LaFave, Jesse (Jennie) Boulerice, and Lindsay Boulerice.  Eight Great Grandchildren Jason, Landon and Jaylee May Garrand, Lydia Surprenant, Dylan & Mia Monette and step great grandchildren Brooke & Brianna Aubrey.

Two sisters, Shirley LaBarge and Diana Clark. In-laws Dorothy Pelkey, Beatrice LaFave, Kenneth & Francine LaFave and Jerome & Brenda LaFave and many nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was predeceased by her parents, Leo & Irene Bushey, brother Leo Bushey Jr., In-laws

Leo & Melvina LaFave, brothers-in-law, Norman Pelkey, Floyd LaFave, and Wallace LaFave, and two sons-in-law, Steven Surprenant & Gary Garrand.
