Joan M. Brunell

MOOERS-Joan M. Brunell, 56 of Mooers passed away Saturday, April 16, 2016 at the Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone with her daughter Jessica and companion April as well as her sisters Donna and Eileen by her side.

She was born June 4, 1959, the daughter of Willard "Bob" and Doris (Jubert) Walker. She graduated from N.C.C.S. in 1977. Joan was a loving mother and grandmother. If you couldn't find her, all you had to do is look for the nearest card table. She loved playing cards with her now deceased brother and family. She also loved her canine girls, Shu Shu and Dixie. They brought lots of joy to her life. She also enjoyed reading and spending time with her nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. The old mill was Joan's summer getaway. Joan could be sitting around a campfire at night playing cards, barbecuing and dancing with her nieces and nephews.

Joan was predeceased by her parents, Bob and Doris Walker; one brother, David Walker; one brother in law, Jim Marbut and her father in law, Terry Brunell.

Survivors include her daughter, Jessica Brunell and her companion April of Plattsburgh; one step grandson, Jah; her companion Bob Lapage of Newport, VT; one brother, Brian Walker and his wife Alice of Tennessee; five sisters, Carol and Gary Cardin of Mooers Forks, Donna and James Rabideau Sr. of Mooers Forks, Dolores and Steven Kopp of California, Eileen Walker-Rabideau of Mooers Forks and Phyllis and John Coryea of Rouses Point; her mother in law, Barbara Brunell of Altona; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be Thursday, April 21, 2016 from 1:00-3:00 at the Ross Funeral Home in Mooers. Words of remembrance will be shared at 3:00.
