CHAMPLAIN-Joseph L. Patrie, 52 of 25 Moore Street in Champlain passed away peacefully Thursday, March 24, 2016 at his home.
He was born January 29, 1964 in Plattsburgh, the son of Leonard and Bernadette (Bordeau) Patrie. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1982-1984. He graduated from radiology school and was a radiologist until he went to work at Wyeth. Joseph worked at Wyeth from 1989-2010 then at Duty Free Americas from February 12, 2012 to the present. He enjoyed coffee with family and friends. He was a member of the New York Genealogical Society for many years. He learned that his family was part of the Mohawk Tribe Turtle Clan. He was also the Champlain Historian.
Joseph was predeceased by his father, Leonard Patrie in 1994 and his mother, Bernadette (Bordeau) Patrie in 2006.
He is survived by his husband, Clarence "JR" Patrie of Champlain; two brothers, Leonard Patrie and his wife Amy of Plattsburgh, Philip Patrie and his wife Barbara of Champlain and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, March 29, 2016 from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 at the Ross Funeral Home in Mooers. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday March 30 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church in Champlain.
