MOOERS FORKS — Marie Evelyn (nee Smith) DeCoste, born March 22, 1943, passed away November 10, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.

She is survived by two sons, Miles J. DeCoste and his wife, Jayne, and Mark A. DeCoste and his wife, Gail; and a daughter, Sheri M. (DeCoste) King, and her husband, James. She was very proud of 10 grandchildren: Nicholas and Kayla DeCoste; Dorothy and her partner, Bill Ashline; Sandra (DeCoste) Bowman and her husband, Drew; Amanda (DeCoste) Rider and her husband, Justin; and Mark DeCoste and his wife, Gina; Alexa (King) Maille and her husband, Jordan; Tamara (King) Hyman and her husband, Tim; Jessica King and her partner, Harry Decker; and Cassie King and her partner, Will Decker. She was also very proud of her thirteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings and in-laws, Sharron and Harold Clukey, Sheila DeCoste, Clarence Smith Jr., Sharlene and Jesse Stanley Jr., and Brian Lashway; Ellyas and Linda DeCoste, Hollie (DeCoste) Boulrice, Lindsay and Sheila DeCoste, Eydie (DeCoste) Nephew, John DeCoste; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Marie was predeceased by her husband, Winston DeCoste; her son, Winston Dan DeCoste Jr.; her parents, Clarence and Elnora (Trombley) Smith; and her sister, Susan. Marie was very family oriented, and she shared her love with the extended family she chose including Maureen O’Neil and her children.

Marie had a very strong faith in God and a special relationship with the Virgin Mary, who she relied on for guidance throughout her life. She shared this faith with others. Marie has held a variety of jobs during her lifetime. None was more special to her than being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Marie was a special lady who showed her love through baking and caring for family and others. She has made many wedding, birthday, anniversary, and any occasion cakes over the years. She would put her love into the cake so that people would have that special day.  She also shared her love by using her green thumb to propagate plants to give to others. Marie was ready for a hug at any time and tried to meet her hug quota of at least 10 per day.
