CHAMPLAIN-Noland R. Oakes, 40 of Champlain passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2016.
He was born December 12, 1975. He attended NCCS. He earned his GED. He loved nature, gardening, being in the woods, hunting, fishing, working hard and spending time with his sons. Nolan was a very special person. He had a strong vibrant smile that could light up the sky. He was kind hearted with a great sense of humor. He was passionate about the outdoors and lived for his two boys, they were his world. He was loved by the people who knew him and will be deeply missed. His friends were like family to him.
Noland was predeceased by his mother, Mary (Ashline) Oakes; his aunt, Marie Ashline; his cousin Thomas Ashline and his grandparents, Vivian and Peter Ashline.
Survivors include his father, Ronnie Oakes, his friend and mother of his children, Tami Zwart; his two sons who loved and admired him deeply, Derek Oakes and Thomas Oakes; one brother, Eric Oakes; aunts and uncles, David and Joyce Ashline, Gary and Linda Ashline; the Trombly family, Carol, who was like a mom to him, Kevin, who he always looked upto, Debbie and Michael, who was his best friend and a brother; the Barcomb family from Champlain, whom he grew up with. He also thought very highly of his friends, Leonard and Lance Swinton, whom he worked for, Michael Zwart, Richard Stratton and Melissa, Karen Knowles and Daylord Trombly and Grace. He is also survived by several cousins.
He was so loved by the people who knew him and will be deeply missed. He will always be in our hearts forever and ever.
