Rachel R. Fox

Rachel Renée (Seitz) Fox passed away in her sleep in the early hours of Tuesday, February 26, 2019 in Rouses Point, NY. Rachel is the much-loved daughter of Saundra Lee Fox, (stepfather, John Leslie) and Donald Timothy Seitz Sr., (stepmother, Joanna Seitz). She is the treasured sister of Don Seitz Jr. (Florence), Gretchen Seitz (David), and Sarah Seitz and special Auntie to Mitchell, Zoë, Steven and Noah.

Rachel was born and lived in Oregon as a child. She moved with her siblings to Windsor and Kenora, Ontario before moving to California, then to Rouses Point, NY with her mother. She loved the rain, the ocean, sunsets and being silly. She was a creative, kind soul who felt great compassion for others. Every pet we owned received special love from Rachel.

As a young teen, our blond, freckle-faced Rachel kept perfect time performing with Flamenco dancer, Maria del Carmen, at the Mexican festival on the Detroit waterfront.

Rachel was a brilliant artist. She drew the most spectacular golden pink California sunsets. Rachel learned to crochet at an early age, with perfect tension. It was her form of meditation and the gift that she loved to share. Over the years, her beautiful blankets have kept many of us snug and warm through cold winter nights.

We lovingly remember Rachel’s graceful perseverance through both physical and mental health challenges. She remained sweet and innocent, even into her adult years.

We believe that Rachel has been welcomed to her final home by many who loved her and have gone before her.

Rachel’s wish was to be cremated. She would love if she was remembered through an act of kindness for someone in need. A gathering to celebrate and remember Rachel will be held in the coming months.
