Rita M. Cody

Rita M. Cody. 88 of Mooers Forks passed away Friday, March 15, 2019 at UVM-CVPH in Plattsburgh. 

She was born June 4, 1930 in Ellenburg, the daughter of Leo and Lynette (Hebert) LaBarge.  She enjoyed working at the thrift shop at St. Augustine’s Church. 

Rita was predeceased by her parents; one brother, Harold LaBarge and one sister, Connie Schnob.

Left to cherish memories of Rita are, one son, Alfred Brassard and his wife Gail of Mooers Forks; three daughters, Carla Gero and her husband Larry of Mooers Forks, Debby Dragoon and her husband Joe of Altona, Kimberly Cody and her companion Kyle Snide of Mooers; three grandchildren, Mike Brassard, Chad Dragoon and Kristopher Sorrell; one niece, four nephews and her beloved pets.

The Family of Rita would like to extend a very special thank you to the progressive care staff at CVPH.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the SPCA or Champlain-Mooers EMS.

Rita’s wishes were to not have public calling hours.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday, March 20th at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Angel’s Church in Altona.  Entombment will follow at Whispering Maples Mausoleum in Ellenburg.
