Robert Smith Obituary

Robert W. “Bill” Smith, 89 of Plattsburgh passed away Thursday, October 25, 2018 at the CVPH Medical Center.

He was born February 13, 1929 in Plattsburgh, the son of Willard and Grace (Mitchell) Smith. He was a civil engineer at Plattsburgh Air Force Base. He enjoyed golfing, woodworking and he loved to read. Bill served in the U. S. Navy. He was a Mason and a Shriner.

Robert was predeceased by his parents, an infant son, Michael; his wife, Glori-Ann; one brother, Harvey Smith and three sisters, Marion Lapan, Ann Downs and Fanny Rabideau.

Left to cherish memories of Bill are his son, David Smith and his wife Jennifer of Rochester, NY; one brother, Carl Smith and his wife Sally of Rouses Point; one sister, Gladys Smith of Canada and four grand-daughters, Lauren Smith, Anna Smith, Paige Smith and Sydney Smith.

A funeral service will be celebrated Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Three Steeples United Methodist Church in Champlain. Interment will follow in Glenwood Cemetery in Champlain.
