Wayne R. Lucas

North Port, FL-Wayne Robert Lucas, 73 of Champlain passed away Friday, February 5, 2016 at his winter home in Florida.

He was born May 2, 1942 in Mooers, the son of Elmer and Elsie (Rabideau) Lucas. Wayne was the meat cutter at the Grand Union in Champlain and the Head Cook at Altona Correctional Facility. He was a member of the American Legion in Rouses Point; the Am Vets in North Port, Florida and the Champlain Fire Department.

Wayne was predeceased by his parents, one brother, Thomas Lucas and two sisters, Mona Lancto and Marna Lucas, who died in infancy.

Survivors include, his wife Linda of Champlain; one son, Stacy Lucas and his fiancAC.e, Kathy of Champlain; one daughter, Teri Lucas-Garrand and her companion, Cory Lucia of Altona. Wayne is also survived by his grandchildren, Zack Lucas and his companion, Hunter Gates, Devin Lucas, Brady Lucas, Bryanna Garrand and Ethan Garrand; one step grandson, Kyle Coupal; his sister in law, Judy Lucas of Dannemora and several other relatives.

Calling hours will be Thursday, February 11, 2016 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Ross Funeral Home in Mooers. A funeral service will be held Friday, February 12, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ross Funeral Home. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery in the spring.
