Anna J. Meseck, 99 of Mooers Forks passed away peacefully January 26, 2024 at her home.  

 

She was born March 15, 1924 in Altona, the daughter of William and Emma (Clark) Baker.  She liked cooking, canning and doing embroidery.  She was always proud of her large gardens.  She was a 50 year plus member of St. Ann’s Society and a devout catholic.  She taught religious education classes for many years and walked the kids to church school.  Anna also collected angel figurines, enjoyed making maple candy and was an avid reader of amish books.  Her greatest love was helping her husband in the sawmill.

 

Anna was predeceased by her parents; her husband James P. Meseck who passed away in 1997; two sons, Marvin and Bryant; four brothers, Edward Baker, Henry Baker, Leo Baker and Francis Baker; two sisters, Mabel Baker and Dora Shaw;one grandchild;  two great grandchildren; two daughters in law; and one foster child.

 

Left to cherish memories of Anna are  one son, Delvin Meseck of Mooers Forks; three daughters, Darlene Graves and her husband Robert of Mooers Forks, Lynette Gregory and her husband Donald of Mooers Forks, Angelissia Heywood and her husband Timothy of Mooers Forks; one sister in law, Peggy Meseck of Altona; 17 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; and two foster children.  

 

Calling hours will be Tuesday, January 30, 2024 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Ross Funeral Home in Mooers.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Ann’s Church in Mooers Forks.  

 

Donations in Anna’s memory may be made to Mooers-Champlain EMS, St. Ann’s Church or Fitzpatrick Cancer Center.
