Beatrice LaValley Obituary

Rouses Point— Beatrice Florence (Brassard) LaValley, 96 of Rouses Point passed away peacefully on Friday, October 27, 2023, at her home with her loving family by her side. 

She was born in Mooers Forks on May 25, 1927, to Fred and Marceline (Monette) Brassard. Beatrice was married to Wilfred LaValley on June 19, 1943 at St. Ann’s Church in Mooers Forks. Together they raised eight children. 

Left to cherish her memory are her two sons and daughters-in-law – Paul LaValley (Nancy) and George Burleigh (Tammy) and five daughters and sons-in-law – Margaret Page (James), Beverly Lamberton (James), Ruby Garrand (Leon), Marilyn LaCount (companion David Graveline) and Norma Begor (Larry), grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, sister Rita LaValley, sister-in-law Irene Lavalley and several nieces and nephews.

Beatrice was predeceased by her parents, husband Wilfred LaValley, daughter Joanne LaCount, son-in-law Russell LaCount, great-great granddaughter Jaidyn Bigelow, brothers Alvin and Arthur Brassard and sisters, Eldora DeCoste and Sister Rita Brassard. 

Beatrice was a loving and caring woman. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family. She loved to cook for family gatherings, play bingo, watch auto racing, and go with her family to the casino. She worked outside the home at Ayerst Laboratories and Mooers Slipper Factory. Beatrice valued life and lived a devoted life to her faith.

A special thank you to Hospice of the North Country, healthcare workers, and everyone who helped to take care of our mother. 

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, November 3, 2023 from 4 pm to 7 pm at Ross Funeral Home, 2586 Route 11, Mooers. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at 12 noon at St. Ann’s Church in Mooers Forks. Committal prayers and burial will follow at St. Ann’s Cemetery, Mooers Forks. 

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Beatrice LaValley may be made to Hospice of the North Country, St. Ann’s Church, or Champlain-Mooers EMS.
