Beniamino Aversa Obituary

Beniamino Aversa, 91 of Altona passed away Friday, March 20, 2020 at the home of his daughter. 


He was born January 1, 1929 in Calvanico, Italy, the son of Michele and Nicoletta (De Stefano) Aversa.  He was a laborer for the Local 32b-32j Service Employees International Union.  He was a NYPD Auxiliary Captain for 30 years.  He was a very humble man and he enjoyed mowing the lawn.


He was predeceased by his parents; his wife Loyda Aversa; and one brother, Armondo Aversa.


Left to cherish memories of Beniamino are his son, Benny Aversa and his wife, Laura of Ellenburg; two daughters, Linda Aversa of Warwick, N.Y. and Nancy Baker of Plattsburgh; seven grandchildren, Anthony Moran, Kimberlee Price, Paige Magoon, Tanner Magoon, Taylor Magoon and Brady Magoon; 11 great grandchildren and one niece, Nicolette Aversa.


Services will be private at the Ross Funeral Home in Mooers.  Interment will be in St. Edmunds Cemetery in the spring.
