Bernice A. Demers, 94, of Champlain passed away Saturday, August 10th, 2024 at Meadowbrook Healthcare in Plattsburgh.
Bernice was born May 12th, 1930, to George and Rose (Boulerice) Gokey, in Detroit, Michigan.
Bernice was a waitress at the Anchorage in Rouses Point for many years. In her younger years, she enjoyed traveling with her husband. She also loved gardening, going to yard sales and enjoyed a glass of wine at the holidays.
Bernice is predeceased by her husband, Arsene Demers, as well as her parents; brothers, Albert Gokey, Leeward Gokey, and Carl Gokey; sisters, Genny Demers, Virginia Jordan, Marie Demers, and Pauline Gokey.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, August 14th, at 11:00 a.m at St. Mary’s Church in Champlain. A burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Mooers.
The family extends a thank you to the staff at Meadowbrook for the wonderful care they took of Bernice.
