Bruce Wayne LeClaire, of Route 9 Champlain, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2026, in the presence of his loving wife, Shelly Seller LeClaire, and his beautiful daughter, Kimberly Ann LeClaire.
He was born July 13, 1947 to Paul LeClaire and Doris (Latour) Graham in Plattsburgh.
Bruce was a lifetime resident of Champlain. During his high school years, he found his love of music and played guitar in the band "The Drifters". After he graduated from Chazy Central Rural School, he joined the Army National Guard in 1966 and served until 1971. When he wasn't involved in his service work, he pursued several careers and interests, such as construction and car sales. He later added taxidermy, real estate sales, and artificial insemination to the list of his many talents. During his 25-year career of artificial inseminator, he was proud of the many local farmers that became lifelong friends. He loved every job he had but most of all he truly had a love for music. Bruce was hardworking but never lost his sense of fun. He was "The Guy" everyone loved and could count on.
Bruce stayed local and married Audrey Rabideau and welcomed his beautiful daughter, Kimberly, and lived in a cabin he built for them.
He later married Shelly Seller and embarked on a new career as a car dealer and later owners of a small eatery, CruisinSnack Bar.
Eventually he retired from the car dealership and focused on the snack bar, until he and Shelly fully retired in 2022. Bruce renewed his interest in playing guitar. He became known as "Gentleman Bruce LeClaire". He found great joy playing music here and in Canada, making many new and dear friends along the way.
Bruce was predeceased by his father, Paul LeClaire; his mother, Doris LaTour Graham; his grandparents, Herbert and Theresa LaTour; his cousin and best friend, Jerry LeClaire; and his wife Audrey Rabideau LeClaire.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Shelly Seller LeClaire; his daughter, Kimberly Ann LeClaire; his sister, Deborah LeClaire Fisher (Joseph); and brothers, Dean LeClaire (Deborah Gouge), Kent Williams, and Mark Williams (Pamela). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Bruce will be greatly missed and remembered by everyone he knew especially his family who loved him dearly.
Calling hours will be held Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Ross Funeral Home in Mooers with a funeral service taking place at 1:00 p.m.. A Celebration of Life to honor Bruce will be held at a later date.
