Catherine J. Bigelow

Catherine J. Bigelow, 95 of Willsboro passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at the Champlain Valley Senior Community in Willsboro.

She was born January 10, 1926 in Willsboro, the daughter of Frank and Bessie (Murray) Hathaway.  She was a member of the Willsboro United Methodist Church and also a choir member.  She enjoyed dancing, singing, bowling, playing cards and snowmobiling.  She and her husband, “Bud” used to go dancing whenever their good friend Serge Bouchard (Lonestar) was playing. Serge’s wife, Pat danced with “Bud” when Catherine took a break.

Catherine was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Herman “Bud” Bigelow; one brother, Patrick Hathaway; four sisters, Ethel Doyle, Grace Doyle, Adelaide Pierce and Dorothy Hathaway, two brothers in law; Donald “Red” Bigelow and Robert Bigelow.

Left to cherish memories of Catherine are two sons, Ronald Bigelow of Whallonsburg, Phillip Bigelow and his wife Chalice of Cumberland Head; one daughter, Gaylen Bigelow of Plattsburgh; four grandchildren, Michael (Christine) Bigelow, Andrew (Zoe) Melton, Mark (Nicole) Bigelow, Jennifer (Michael) Peck; three great grandchildren, Wyatt Bigelow, Mason Peck and Spencer Peck.  She is also survived by one sister in law, Phyllis Bancroft.

Calling hours will be Monday, April 26, 2021 from 1:30-2:30 at the Ross Funeral Home in Willsboro.  A funeral service will follow at the funeral home.  Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Essex following the funeral service.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Willsboro United Methodist Church.
