Charles Krotz Obituary

Charles Krotz died May 25, 2020 at Elderwood of Uihlein in Lake Placid.  He was born June 22, 1926 in Brooklyn, NY to Karl and Luise (Horner) Krotz.  He graduated from East New York High School.

 

He is survived by his wife Irene Krotz and his daughters Irene Southard and Karen Senecal and grandchildren Chase Southard, Emily Southard, Rebecca Leroux and Renee Brunk and great grandson Jase Leo Leroux.  His daughter Elizabeth Krotz predeceased him.

 

Upon graduation from high school he entered the U S Navy.  After being discharged from active duty, he joined the Navy Reserve and retired as a Master Chief Gunners Mate.  He was also a past commander of William Nolan Post 405 of the American Legion in Willsboro.

 

He served as Chairman of the Board of Assessors for many years.  He also served as Chairman of the Willsboro Planning Board for many years and was on the original committee to create a plan for Willsboro. 

 

He was a member and past master of Iroquois Lodge #602 Essex, NY and was a Past District Deputy of the Essex District and a past Assistant Grand Lecturer for the District.  On the State level he was a member of the Grand Masters Advisory Committee and a member of the Grand Lodge Leadership and Education Committee.

 

He was employed by the State University of New York in Plattsburgh, NY until his retirement.

 

There will be no calling hours.  He has requested there be no Masonic Service.  He would ask that Masons spend more time attending their Lodge.
