It is with great sadness to announce the sudden passing of Dale R. Cardin on March 4th, 2026, of Punta Gorda, Florida, and formally of Rouses Point, NY.

Dale was born on October 13, 1956, to Armand and Florence Cardin.

Dale leaves behind his loving wife of 40 wonderful years, Lisa (Trombley) Cardin.

Left to cherish his memories are his two sons, Kevin (Nikki) Cardin and Thomas (Marisa) Cardin of Colchester, VT. The three grandchildren who “Papa” adored, Garrett Cardin of Rouses Point, NY, and Emmeline and Nolan of Colchester, VT. Also, his two fur babies, Piper and Josie.

Dale also leaves behind three siblings, one sister, Carol (Stacey) Picard and two brothers, Alan (Debbie) Cardin and Roy (Brenda) Cardin.

Dale is predeceased by his parents, Armand and Florence Cardin, and his mother and father-in-law, Orville and Noella Trombley.

He enjoyed golfing, boating, and watching sports, especially his Boston Red Sox, Celtics and Pittsburgh Steelers. Playing cards of any kind was another one of his passions.

Dale retired from the Champlain Telephone after 42 years of service. A 50 plus year member of the Knights of Columbus, council 3525, where he had also held the honor of being a Grand Knight. Adding to his service to the community, he was a member of the Sons of the Legion, in Rouses Point, NY.

Shortly after his retirement, Dale and Lisa discovered the “Burnt Store Marina Community”. After a year, they moved down there permanently as their winter home, where they were welcomed with open arms. His circle of friends there was something he cherished deeply.

Dale lived his life to the fullest! Always with a smile, he truly made the most of each day whether it was lending a hand to a friend, playing a round of golf or just hanging out with family or friends.

He left us with a void that can never be replaced.

A Christian Mass service will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Champlain, NY, with a Celebration of Life reception to follow at the American Legion in Rouses Point, NY.
