Obituary

Dennis R Rabideau, 52 of Mooers Forks, passed away unexpectedly after a boating accident on June 23, 2020. He was born on March 21, 1968 in Plattsburgh, the son of Robert and Theresa (Dauphinais) Rabideau. He graduated from Northeastern Clinton Central School in 1987 and attended Clinton Community County College where he took several courses to stay current with his mechanical background.  

He spend many years working on the family Rabideau Dairy Farm growing up before he began his career as a maintenance worker for Wyeth Pharmaceuticals in Rouses Point in 1991.  Dennis spent 15 years at Wyeth before the company began closure.   Dennis was known as a jack of all trades and could fix anything.  After leaving Wyeth, he worked for Begor’s Seamless Gutters and then D&S Specialties.  Dennis was currently working for Louis Bombardier as a facility mechanic for the United Parcel Service    (UPS) in Plattsburgh. 

Dennis was an avid outdoorsman who loved to always be doing something, whether it was snowmobiling, UTV riding or boating. He excelled in horseshoes and participated in a seasonal men’s league every Wednesday night. He also loved to watch sports and was a devoted NASCAR Jeff Gordon fan as well as a Dallas Cowboys, Montreal Canadian and New York Yankees fan.   He had several friends which he loved getting together with. Dennis was well known for playing jokes/pranks on family, friends and coworkers.   He was also well known for being a kind hearted friend that would drop what he was doing in a moment’s notice to assist  anyone in need.  

His presence will be missed by all, but his legacy will continue on by his family, friends, and those who knew him.  

Dennis is survived by his daughter, Tori Claire Rabideau which was his pride and joy;  mother Theresa; siblings, Joanne Rabideau-Ryan (Mike), Gerald Rabideau (Nancy), Debbie Hemmila (Richard LaBounty) and Randy Rabideau (Michelle Menard). Nieces, Ashley Castine (daughter: Nirvannah & son: Ayden Welch), Tiffany, Kourtney & Taylor Rabideau and nephew Jordan Castine (daughter: Cadence).

Dennis was predeceased by his father Robert Rabideau, grandparents, aunts, uncles and a couple of cousins.

Calling hours will be held at Ross Funeral Home in Mooers, N.Y. on Wednesday July 1, 2020 from 3-7pm with a brief funeral service followed by the burial at the St Ann’s Cemetery in Mooers Forks, NY.
