Donald F. Turner (Ducky), 79, of Mooers Forks, passed away Sunday, March 26, 2023, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in Ticonderoga, NY on January 28, 1944, the son of the late Joseph & Malina Turner.
Donald retired from Imperial Wall Coverings after 30 plus years in the shipping department. He fought his battle against pulmonary disease for four long years. Despite spending much of that time in and out of the hospital, he never lost his sense of humor. Throughout his entire journey he cracked jokes with his grown children, grandchildren, and even made lighthearted jokes with the nurses. He had a great ability make others smile and his sense of humor will be greatly missed.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 60 years, Sandra Turner; children Deborah Baughn and Tammy (Michael) Lacey; grandchildren Jessica LaForest Lavalley (Scott), Brandon Baughn, and Michaela Lacey; brothers Duane and Adrian Turner; sisters Lauraine (Joseph) Ashe, Jane (Edward) Agnew, Joann (Chris) Mayer, Beatrice Holt, Carol (Paul) Higgins, Susan Vaughan, Nancy (Theodore) Ginett, Theresa Manning; brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law Robert and Flossie Bushey, Betty Duquette, William and Jane Bushey, Erma Martinez, Dick and Barbara Bushey, Rick Bushey companion JoAnne Hemingway.
Donald is predeceased by his parents, his brother Greg Turner, his in-laws Bertha and Amos Bushey and grandson Cpl Mathew P. Laforest.
In accordance with Donald’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. A celebration of life will be held in the summer. Memorial donations may be offered in his name to the CVPH Pulmonary Medical Office, c/o CVPH Foundation, Attn: Kerry Haley, 75 Beekman Street, Plattsburgh, NY 12901 to purchase needed equipment and supplies for those who suffer from pulmonary disease.
