Donald O. and Bernice M. Barcomb, husband and wife, passed away over the weekend. Donald, 88, passed away on Saturday, December 6, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. Bernice, 86, passed away early Monday, December 8, at Meadowbrook Healthcare in Plattsburgh.
Donald was born September 16, 1937, in Sciota, the son of Lawrence and Beatrice (Guyette) Barcomb. He owned and operated Barcomb’s Furniture in Chateaugay with his brother Ronald.
Bernice was born March 22, 1939, in Mooers Forks, the daughter of Arthur and Lillian (Lafountain) Burdo. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, vacationing and ATV riding.
Donald and Bernice were predeceased by their parents, Lawrence and Beatrice Barcomb and Arthur and Lillian Burdo; and brothers, Larry Barcomb, Ronald Barcomb, Kenneth Burdo and Earl Burdo.
They are survived by their sons, Gary of Plattsburgh, Steven (Maxine) of Rouses Point, and Scott (Terry) of Malone; sisters, Darlene (Gerald) LaValley of Mooers Forks, Shirleen Buskey of Mooers and Annette (Fred) Lagoy of Cadyville; sister-in-law, Huguette Barcomb of Champlain; grandchildren, Tyler (Jerusha) Barcomb, Jacqueline (Jordan) Robinson, Anthony Barcomb, and Nichole (Ben) Perry; and great-grandchildren, Elijah Barcomb and Eavan, Liam and Grady Perry.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 12, at the Ross Funeral Home, 2586 US-11, Mooers, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 13, at 11:00 a.m. at the Ellenburg Mausoleum, 5055 US-11, Ellenburg Depot. There will be a Celebration of Life at the VFW POST 1418, 600 St. John Rd., Champlain, NY on Saturday, December 13, beginning at 12:00.
