It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Edward G. Kent, who left this world peacefully on August 28, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on April 7, 1958, in Massena, NY, Edward was a cherished son, devoted husband, proud father, and beloved grandfather. He resided in Mooers, NY, where he created a warm and welcoming home.

Edward first started is career as an electrician that he trained for while in the Navy. He then moved his focus to building maintenance, serving various local schools in Clinton County, NY, as a skilled Building Maintenance Mechanic. His unwavering commitment to his work was matched only by his dedication to his family and community. Edward was a proud veteran of the Navy, and he carried the values of honor and service with him throughout his life. He enjoyed hunting, nascar racing, Airborne Speedway with his brother Ron, family trips and sporting events for his children and granddaughters. 

He was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Rita Kent; and his brother Tim Kent.

Edward is survived by his loving wife, Joan Kent; his sons, Kyle Kent and Kenny Roberts, along with their wives, Morgan Kent and Deborah Roberts. Edward took great joy in his role as a grandfather, and he will be deeply missed by his granddaughters, Laci Roberts and Lexi Roberts. Edward is also remembered by his brother, Ronald Kent, and sister-in-law, Ann Kent; sister-in-law, Judy Pray, and brother-in-law, Jim Pray who cherished the bond they shared. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Edward's life and legacy at Ross Funeral Home in Mooers, on September 4, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. This gathering will provide an opportunity for those who knew him to share their memories and honor the impact he made on so many lives. There will be light refreshments to follow at the Mooers Volunteer Fire Department.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mooers Volunteer Fire Department at 2508 Route 11, Mooers, NY 12958 and the NCCS Booster Club at 2284 Miner Farm Rd, Altona, NY 12910.

Edward G. Kent will be remembered not only for his contributions as a hard worker and soldier but also for the warmth of his heart, his laughter, and the kindness he extended to all. As we come together to say farewell, we celebrate the life of a remarkable man who will continue to live on in the hearts of those he loved.
