Edward C. Martin Obituary

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Edward Charles Martin with his family by his side. He was the son of the late Ernest and Florence Martin. Edward was a beloved son, father, brother,  uncle and friend.

 

Edward was a Vietnam Combat Veteran from 1970 to 1973. He later worked at Wyeth and World Warehouse for many years but his true love was fishing. He provided the local area with some of the finest perch to be served in area restaurants. He also enjoyed hunting, bird watching, and playing with his adored dog, Gracie. His favorite past time in life was being a grandfather and a great-grandfather.

 

 

Edward is survived by his loving children, Tammy and David Monette of Plattsburgh, Brandie (Stephen) Martin of Rouses Point, Hope (Cory) Fountain of Champlain, Ashley (Ronald) Ricci of Statesville, North Carolina, Edward (Lauri) Martin of Rouses Point, Raymond (Jen) Martin of Rouses Point, Brian (Lori) Martin of Courtland, Virginia, Sandrasue Martin of Rouses Point, Kevin (Kayla) Martin of Champlain; grandchildren, Jaszlynn (Patrick) Bloomfield-Hatch, Orrie and Carlei Canning, Spencer and Azalea Fountain, Haley, Lillian, Ronald and Christina Ricci, Cy and Hasley Therrien, Alexa and Lana Martin, Savannah, Myah, Logan, Ethan, Brian, Wyatt Martin, soon to be baby Martin, Nevaeh and Azaria Martin, Peyton, Tucker, Jackson, Bryar, K.j. Martin; Great grandchildren Maverick and baby Bloomfield-Hatch.

 

He is also survived by siblings, Blanche Blake of Plattsburgh, Cliff Martin of Florida, Joanne (Bill) Deo as well as several adored nieces, nephews and cousins and a close friend, Kim Desmond and his previous wife and companion, Sharleen Snide.

 

He was predeceased by Ernest (Sonny) Martin Rouses Point, Raymond Martin of Birmingham, Al, Lenora Hebert of Plattsburgh and his partner Rosemary Marshall.

 

Fly high, laugh hard, and rest easy. 

 

Viewing will be held on Thursday, May 1st, 2025 at the Ross Funeral Home in Mooers from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will take place Monday, May 5th at 1:00 p.m. at St Mary's Church in Champlain followed by a Burial at St Patrick's Cemetery. The celebration of life is at 4:00 p.m., immediately following the burial at the VFW Post 1418 in Champlain. Flowers can be sent to Ross Funeral Home or donations can be made to Elmore SPCA or Champlain Ems for their hard work and dedication.
