Elizabeth Laurin Obituary

Heaven received another angel on August 2, 2020 when Betty Laurin,83, passed away at UVM at CVPH.
She was born July 16, 1937 in Rome, NY. She was lovingly raised in Mooers, NY by Della and Edgar Morgan, whom she loved and was grateful for.
She graduated from Mooers Central School and then went to live with her sister and brother-in-law Evie and Bernie Davis in Rochester while working at Eastman Kodak.
She later returned to Mooers. She married Richard Laurin, the love of her life and best friend, on April 28,1956 at St. Joseph's Church in Mooers. She worked at PSUC, then FW Myers before becoming a stay at home Mom. Mom and Dad later opened and operated Clinton Farm Supply in Champlain. She also managed Northern Tier Senior Housing in Champlain.
Together they later built their home. It was an ongoing joke between them as to who put more nails in the house, Dad later had the solarium added for Mom, which she so wanted and loved. They spent many hours there together relaxing and enjoying the view.. It was her favorite place to read, do word search and visit.
Mom was involved in the community: Ladies of St. Anne, 4-H leader, St. Joseph's Parish Council and on the ARC Board of Directors, as well as other committees. She was also inducted onto the ARC's "Wall of Friends." She also knitted and donated many hats to various organizations.
She loved her family most of all and was a great daughter, wife, Mom, sister, aunt and friend.
On December 12, 2019, we lost Dad  - a devastating loss to Mom and us. She was also predeceased by Della and Edgar Morgan,  her in-laws Anthime and Eva Laurin, her sister Evelyn Hatcher and brother-in-laws Bernie Davis and Robert Hatcher, brother Earl and Bea Morgan, brother-in-law Robert Alexander, a son-in-law Lee Dupee, foster sister Ruth Dibble, half brother Ron Zak, brother-in-laws and their wives Armand and Rita Laurin, Marcel and Beulah Laurin, Francis and Rita Laurin, Paul and Angele Laurin and sisters Theresa and Girard Tetreault and Anita Laurin.
Left to cherish her memories are a son Randy Laurin, a daughter Diane Laurin, sister Barbara Alexander, brother-in-law Walter and Rita Rae Laurin, granddog Zorro, half sisters Nancy and Donny Duprey and Brenda Wells, sister-in-law Georgette Zak and many nieces and nephews.
We would like to thank our cousin Sandra Gariepy, not only for all the time she spent with Mom, but also for the love she showed her and for her support. Thank you also to Dr. William Pelton and Kim from HCR and to the R5 nurses, CNA's and dietary staff, who were so caring and compassionate.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph's Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund,  CVPH Foundation, Elmore SPCA, ARC Foundation or Heart Association.
Many times over the years, we've said we couldn't have chosen better parents. "Your wings were ready, our hearts were not." We love you lots and will treasure our memories of you always.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 8, 2020 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Oratory in Coopersville.  A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11:00.  Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
