Emma Savage Obituary

On March 7th, 2025, Emma Irene (Decosse) Savage, 91 of Rouses Point began her journey to heaven.

Emma was the daughter born on April 12th, 1933, to Ellen and Adrian Decosse of Cannons Corner, NY.

Those who welcomed Emma at the gates of heaven along with her parents were her brothers, Roma (Helen) Decoste, George Decosse, and Dennis Decosse and her sister Bernadette Trudeau. Standing at the head of the line would be her eldest son Steven Savage, his father Stanley Savage and her son-in-law William Laundry. Emma would be excited to be welcomed by all her nieces and nephews and dear friends who left before her as well as her great-granddaughter Amber Savage.

Emma was a hard loyal worker during her years at Ayerst/Wyeth/Pfizer from 1974-2003, only retiring she stated,“so someone else could have a job”. But Emma continued to work at the ICE Com in Champlain, NY and caring for many senior friends in her life right up to 83 years old, only stopping due to her Parkinsons diagnosis.

Through the years when Emma wasn’t working, she was involved in the Lady of St. Anne’s Ladies Auxiliary, Good Fellowship in Champlain, Red Hat Society, K&C Auxiliary, Atar Rosary Society and the VFW in Champlain. Emma was a Eucharistic Minister at the St. Patrick’s Church in Rouses Point. Even with all of these activities, she always loved to find time to play golf and go bowling with her friends and family.

Emma leaves behind her two sisters, Theresa Snide of Mooers Forks, NY and Lorretta LaFountain of Rouses Point, NY and many nieces and nephews.

Emma was the proud loving mother of Brenda and Patrick Augustus, Starr and Gregory Rabideau, Dean and Terry Savage,Penny (William) Laundry and daughter-in-law Shirley (Steve)Savage. Emma adored her grandchildren, Jamie Savage, who dedicated the last eight years to take wonderful care of Emma so her wishes to live at home could be fulfilled. Jason (Alice) Boulrice, Brad Boulrice, Casey Boulrice, Charlene (Stephen) Cutler, Ashely Mitchell, Joshua Savage, Carissa (Joe) Coakley, Kylie (Paul) Anderson, Nicholas Savage, Brittney (Mark Beyette)Savage. Nothing made Emma smile brighter than her great grandchildren, Sierra Boulrice, Kayla Rabideau, Ryan Boulrice, Miles Boulrice, Izabella Savage, Trente Mitchell, Jordon Savage, Jack Savage and Bellalisa Savage, Zachary Cutler, Landen Anderson, Halle Anderson, Rylan Coakley, Emma’s sweet little Mya Coakley, and Nova Lyn Beyette who stole Emma’s heart the last few months of Emma’s life.

The family wants to take time during their grieving to send out special thank yous to Sierra Spoor and the North Country Medical team along with the Hospice of the North Country team for the love and support they gave Emma and her family so that Emma’s wishes to live out her life in her beautiful home were granted.

There will be a gathering for visitors to help celebrate Emma’s life on March 14th, 2025, at St. Patrick’s Church in Rouses Point.

Visitors are welcome at 10:30am and a Christian Mass will begin at 11:30am.
