Gary R. Rabideau

Gary Roger Rabideau, age 76, of Mooers, New York, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Gary was born on January 12, 1949, in Plattsburgh, New York, to Roger and Theresa Rabideau. In his younger years, he was an altar boy for Saint Joseph’s Church in Mooers. He was a lifelong resident of the area and deeply rooted in his community.

Gary proudly enlisted in the United States Army, where he served his country with honor for several years. Following his military service, he worked for many years at Wyeth-Ayerst before retiring.

Gary was the true definition of a family man. While he had many interests, nothing mattered more to him than his family. He took great pride in caring for those he loved—often cooking large meals just so he could deliver a container to someone’s home and spend time catching up on their day. He never missed a birthday or holiday and cherished meaningful conversations with everyone he met. When he wasn’t running errands, Gary could be found outside mowing his lawn or online enjoying his favorite games.

Gary was predeceased by his beloved parents, Roger (2001) and Theresa (2019), as well as his aunts, uncles, and many dear friends.

He is survived by his loving wife, Judy Rabideau; his children, Melissa and Greg Lavalley, Eric and Erin Rabideau, and Chris Rabideau; his grandchildren, Dustin and Mandy Lavalley, Brittany and Dillon Pecor, Nick Lavalley and his fiancé Madison Brown, Emma Rabideau, and Lilly Rabideau; and his cherished great-grandchildren, Elyse Lavalley and Madison Pecor.

Gary will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his kindness, devotion, and unwavering love for his family.

Calling Hours will be held on December 20th from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Ross Funeral Home in Mooers, NY. A Funeral Service with Military Honors will follow at 12:00 PM at the funeral home.
