Isabelle B. Matott

Isabelle Bernadette Matott, 86 of Mooers went to be with her husband August 20, 2019 while surrounded by her loving family.

She was born December 6, 1932 to Hubert and Lena LaPierre.  She married Henry Matott well over 50 years ago.  They enjoyed time together until his passing in 2011 and she has greatly missed him since.  Isabelle loved to crochet and many of her family’s homes have her afghans in them.  Even her great grandson Jordan Henry has one. 

Isabelle was a Registered Nurse, graduating from Champlain Valley School of Nursing.  She worked at Champlain Valley Hospital, Diamond International and retired from Ayerst Laboratories after 25 years in 1991.

She was very active in her church and had very strong faith, saying the rosary twice a day, every day.  She was Director of Religious Education, she taught religion, was a Eucharistic minister and washed the altar linens.  She was a member of the church choir and at one time the director. 

Isabelle is survived by her children, Pamela Loughan and her husband Christopher, Diane LaClair, Wayne Matott and his wife Randy.

She was loved dearly by her grandchildren, Dustin and his fiancée, Ali, Casey Loughan, Sara Rahmani and her husband, Maor, Samantha Matott.  She also recently welcomed a great grandson, Jordan Henry Rahmani.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families.

Deceased family members in addition to her husband Henry and her parents include her in-laws, Harvey and Helen Matott; her sister, Shirley Mooso and her husband Allan; her brother, Donald LaPierre and his wife Cecile; and a nephew, Daniel LaPierre.

Isabelle’s family would like to thank Meadowbrook Healthcare for the love given to their mother over the last few years. 

Calling hours will be Sunday, August 25th from 2:00-5:00 at the Ross Funeral Home in Mooers.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, August 26th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ann’s Church in Mooers Forks.
