Joan C. (LaValley) LaCount

Joan LaValley LaCount-The Heavenly sky has opened up to take away the pain from our mom, Joan LaValley LaCount.  May you rest in peace Mom.

Born August 13, 1947 on a small dairy farm in the town of Mooers Forks, NY, she was the daughter of the late Wilford LaValley.  She is survived by her mom Beatrice LaValley of Rouses Point; five sisters, Maggie and Jim Page of Plattsburgh, Beverly and Jim Lamberton of Mooers Forks, Ruby and Leon Garrand of Chazy, Marilyn LaCount and her companion, David Gravelin of Mooers Forksand Norma and Larry Begor of Mooers; two brothers, Paul and Nancey LaValley of Mooers Forks, George Burleigh and his companion, Tammy Barcomb; four sons, Jeffery and Roxane Sterling of Rouses Point, Clifford and Joan Sterling of Rouses Point, Scott and Robin Sterling of Sciota, Todd and Stacey Sterling of Rouses Point; 21 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and her step daughter, Tammy Brown of Chazy.

She worked at Imperial Paper Mill for 14 years, Ayerst Labs for 14 years, IMS in Champlain for 12 years and she was the Super Sample Lady at Price Chopper, a job that she loved so much and met so many nice people at.  She loved camping, playing penny slots at the casino, but most of all she loved spending time with her grandkids. 

Calling hours will be Saturday, September 21, 2019 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church in Rouses Point.  A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11:00.  Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.  Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the North Country.
