Kimberly A. Brunell (Kim), 61, of Altona, passed away with her loving family by her side on September 20, 2024, after a brief battle with cancer.

Kim was born on September 28, 1962, to Harvey and Janice (Jubert) Surprenant in Plattsburgh, New York. After graduating from Northeastern Clinton Central School, she pursued her degree in Radiology.

After graduating she started her first job at Alice Hyde Medical Center, and later was employed by Wyeth-Ayerst Laboratories. The last several years she spent as the Feinberg Park Campsite manager where she gained an extended camping family.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband of 38 years, James Brunell SR, children Sarah (Daniel) Myers, Kristen Brunell, James Brunell JR, Garrett (Jason) Perkins, Jessica (April) Brunell, grandchildren Lucas, Allie, Serenity, Raeann, Makyha, Harper, and Jah. She also leaves behind her father Harvey (Bernadette) Surprenant, mother-in-law Barbara Brunell, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Jeanne (Mike) Bushey, Michael (Jody) Brunell, Karen Tourville, Danny (Shawn) Brunell, John Brunell, Tommy Brunell, Eddie (Stacey) Brunell and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a very special friend Amy House.

Kim was predeceased by her baby boy Joshua Brunell, mother Janice Surprenant, sister Keitha Brunell, father-in-law Terry Brunell, sister-in-law Brenda Brunell, niece Tara Lynn Bushey, nephews Chris and Chad Brunell.

Kim, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother (Grammy) was a passionate gardener, avid snowmobile rider, and phenomenal seamstress. She cherished time spent with her grandbabies, sharing stories, singing, and laughing around the campfire. Her love for sewing brought warmth and creativity to her family, while summers at camp were filled with golfcart rides, s’mores, adventure and joy. Kim’s spirit and dedication to family will be deeply missed by all who loved her.

Upon Kim’s wishes, please join her family at a celebration of life at 3 o’clock on Saturday, September 28 at Feinberg Park Campsite. A burial will take place at 11 AM on Monday, September 30 at Holy Angels Cemetery.
