L. Carol Lapan

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lola Carol Lapan, who departed this life on April 6, 2026, at the age of 83. Carol was born on January 8, 1943, in Plattsburgh, NY, where she cultivated lifelong connections and cherished memories.

Carol was a devoted mother and cherished grandmother, leaving behind her beloved son, Charles Lapan Jr. and daughter-in-law Sharon Lapan, as well as her daughter Lisa Sevilla and son-in-law Jose Sevilla. She took immense joy in her role as a grandmother to four grandchildren and a great-grandmother to five great-grandchildren, sharing her love and wisdom with each of them. Carol is also survived by her dear sister, Carlotta "Kitty" Begore.

Throughout her life, Carol embraced a variety of occupations and touched the lives of many. Her indomitable spirit and warm heart will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.

A graveside service will be held on May 29, 2026, at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick's Cemetery, where family and friends will gather to honor and celebrate her life. 

In this time of sorrow, we invite all who knew Carol to join us in reflecting on her life and the love she shared. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, and she will forever be remembered as a caring and compassionate soul.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Lola Johnson; her husband, Charles Lapan; her brother, Carl "Butch" Johnson and her sister, Patricia Johnson.
