It is with profound sadness that we have to inform you that Laureanne Proulx passed away on September 29, 2021. Laureanne died peacefully at her home with her daughters.
Laureanne was born in Jacques-le-Mineur, Quebec Canada, the daughter of the late Denis Lucier and the late Colombe Faucher.
Laureanne was a graduate of St-Jerome (Terrebonne) college with a degree in teaching. She was a former school teacher of La Prairie Quebec. Her love for children was proven in her teaching career where her students loved and respected her. Her tireless efforts to have them succeed never failed. She was truly gifted in her field.
Laureanne also became a Care Giver for 25 years in Clinton County and Franklin County running her own business. She gave each of her clients undivided love and attention.
To know her was to love her. A wonderful and compassionate friend and a loving and devoted mother. She spent most of her life giving to others. Her daughters were blessed to have such a truly beautiful women in their lives. Never leaving her daughters wanting or needing anything as she was always a strong presence in their lives. The world is a different place with the loss of our mom, our best friend.
Bernadette Bechard was a long time and blessed friend to Laureanne. They enjoyed each other’s company and talked on the phone sometimes into the early morning hours.
Laureanne was also predeceased by her sister Marquise Lucier, her husband Roger Proulx and her longtime companion Gustave Petit.
She is survived by her five daughters Nancy Japhet (Richard) of Colchester, VT, Johanne Goslow (Jeffrey) of Coopersville, NY, Linda Rasco (Dennis) of West Chazy, NY, Debbie Hicks (Edward) of Champlain, NY and Brenda Proulx of Champlain, NY. Seven grandchildren, Kasey Japhet, Theresa Japhet, Thomas Goslow (Elizabeth Easter), Michael Proulx, Jacqueline Rasco, Nathan Ero (Katelyn Ero) and Austin Snide. Three great grandchildren, Corey James Goslow, Callie Mae Goslow and Declan David Ero. Her sister Marie-Jeanne (Pierre Boudreau) brothers Donald (Gervaise Pilon), Gaetan (Daniel Hebert) and Maurice all of Canada. Many nieces, nephews, aunt and friends.
There will be a private memorial mass for the family at the St. Joseph Church in Coopersville, NY on Saturday October 2.
