Lisabeth Weeks Ross passed away in hospice care in Lake Placid, N.Y., on Oct. 16, 2024. Lisabeth was born June 7, 1938, in Plattsburgh, NY, and grew up in Rouses Point, N.Y. She returned there in her retirement, the last descendent of the Weeks family to live in the village where they settled more than two centuries ago.

Lisabeth graduated from Plattsburgh High School in 1956, her valedictory address on International Geophysical Year foretelling her lifelong interest in science. She received a Batchelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from Vassar College and worked in hospital settings for many years, first in Buffalo, N.Y., and then at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

The daughter of Marcia DeLano Ross and John Putnam Ross of Rouses Point, who pre-deceased her, she is survived by her sister Heather Louise Ross (Edward Lynde Strohbehn Jr.) of Washington, D.C., her brother John Putnam Ross Jr. (Linda Casson Rankin Ross) of Lake St. Louis, M.O., and numerous cousins of several generations.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ross Funeral Home, Champlain, NY. A remembrance of Lisabeth's life will be scheduled in June in Rouses Point.
