Loyda Aversa Obituary
ALTONA-Loyda Aversa, 83 of Altona passed away Sunday, August 6, 2017 at the CVPH Medical Center.
She was born April 24, 1934 in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, the daughter of Pepe and Casta (Quious) Forytz. She worked at the Department of Social Services in the Bronx. She loved doing crossword puzzles, casinos, singing, dancing and spending time with her family.
Loyda was predeceased by her parents.
Survivors include, her husband, Beniamino Aversa of Altona; one son, Benny Aversa and his fiancAC.e, Laura Carter of Ellenburg; two daughters, Linda Aversa of Warwick, NY, Nancy Baker of Plattsburgh; one brother, Sammy Forytz; one sister, Aidia Berrious; six grandchildren, Kimberlee Price of Plattsburgh, Anthony Moran and Cynthia of Champlain, Paige, Tanner, Taylor and Brady; nine great grandchildren, Dominic, Sy, Pierce, Sadie, Sylvia, Baby Anthony, Laurynn, Callum and Kinslee. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Thursday, August 10, 2017 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the Ross Funeral Home in Mooers. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, August 11th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Edmund's Church in Ellenburg. Interment will follow in St. Edmund's Cemetery.
