In the pre dawn hours of the morning of July 21, 2022, Luke LaBarge, 14, of Champlain, passed peacefully and unexpectedly in his sleep, joining his cousin Holden Provost, and the goodest good boy, his dog Harley, in whatever comes next.
Luke was a naturally old soul, wise far beyond his years. He had kindness beyond measure; a wonderful son, brother and friend to all. His jokes would make everyone's day a little brighter. He was a natural light in a very dark world. It's impossible to find the words to express the grief, shock and anger to lose such an amazing child after just fourteen years.
An avid fisherman and lover of wildlife; Luke had several bird feeders installed around the yard. He would teach you about each type of bird too; he loved to learn everything about his hobbies and interests. Always ready with a joke or a story, he would chat with anyone who'd listen.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his parents, Kristy and Lewis LaBarge and little sister Leah. Maternal grandparents Clarence and Linda McDonald, paternal grandparents Hayword and Sharon LaBarge, great grandmother Theresa Garrand; aunts Tina McDonald (surviving son Colby Provost), Sherry King (Stuart), Heather Brunell (Jason), uncles Andy McDonald (Billie Jo Dapo), Justin Gay (Erin), Jason Gay, and countless cousins and lifelong friends who are considered family.
Calling hours will be Thursday, July 28, 2022 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Ross Funeral Home in Mooers. A funeral service will follow at 6:00 at the funeral home.
