Marjorie Lorretta Lashway, 95 of Ellenburg Depot passed away peacefully at her home December 3, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born September 18, 1927, the daughter of Michael and Genevieve (LaDouceur) Rabideau. Marjorie loved her home, friends, and church , but her greatest love was for her family. She was a mother of nine, grandmother of 19, great grandmother of 29 and great great grandmother of three. She loved being surrounded by her large family and enjoyed hosting gatherings as much as she could. She enjoyed cooking delicious meals that served more people than the tables could accommodate and she pleased everyone after dinner with her delicious homemade pies and doughnuts. She could mend or sew anything, maintain beautiful large gardens and she would preserve her harvest by canning-another favorite hobby. She loved to have fun and you could often find her winning a round of cards, golfing or traveling.
Margie was a life-long communicant of St. Edmund’s Church where she served many years as a member of the Catholic Daughters and Altar Rosary Society.
She is predeceased by her husband, Leo Lashway; her children, Ronald, Sandra and Robert. She outlived all her sisters and brothers. She left behind many nieces and nephews. They often said she was their favorite aunt.
Left to cherish memories of Margie are her son, Craig Lashway and his companion, Sherry Goodrow of Ellenburg Depot; her daughters, Judy Holgerson of The Villages, FL, Leta and Gerard LaBarre of Ellenburg, Donna Lashway of Arizona, Cheryl Lashway and companion Jim Bronson of Ellenburg and Terri Castellan and Ed of Southbury, CT.
Margie was a devoted wife and mother who cherished her life and always appreciated a beautiful day.
