Michael Willette Obituary

Michael James Willette, 63, of Mooers, NY, surrounded by his family, went home to the Lord August 11, 2022.
He was born October 22, 1958 in Plattsburgh, NY, the son of Roderick (Bud) Willette and Beverly (Boulrice). He served in the United States Army, and he received his Associates degree in business administration from Clinton Community College.
Mike was very talented with construction, building his own home and helping family with projects.
He was a whiz at cooking, especially on the barbecue, and canning just about anything that could be canned. He enjoyed working with computers, as well as the challenge they often gave him. He also liked motorcycle riding, traveling around the North Country. And no one could match Mike's skills when it came to a game of rummikub or dice.
Mike was a former member of the Mooers Knights of Columbus, serving for almost 20 years. He was a past Grand Knight and led many activities such as cooking meals and building the K of C parade float, just to name a few.
More than anything, Mike loved spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. He hosted many barbecues, giving rides on "Herbie" and making bonfires.
Mike is survived by his son, Joshua Willette, of Deerfield Beach FL, and his daughter Tonya Stein of Chazy; his grandchildren, Jakob King and Ethan Willette of Mooers, Emerson Rinn, Rowan Rinn and Solomon Stein of Chazy; siblings Robert Willette (Nanette) of Wamego KS, Jeffrey Willette (Becky) of Long Beach MS, Louise Wesch (Joseph) of Mooers Forks NY, Brenda Munnik (Michael) of Rouses Point NY, and Brian Willette (Yumaira) of Biloxi, MS; daughter-in-law Jamie Willette of Mooers; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is predeceased by his parents.
A special thank you to Joelle DiBenedetto of Hollywood FL, a longtime family friend who was a great source of strength and hope for Mike throughout difficult times. Also, the staff of the CVPH ICU, especially Amanda, Aubrey, Giselle, Nicole, Patty and Princess. Their dedication and compassion reflect true human kindness at our family's moment of great need.
A Mass in Mike's honor will be held October 22 at 11 am at St Ann's Church in Mooers, followed by a celebration of life.
