Mona “Dawn” (Carpentier) Aubin, 89, originally of Cadyville, passed away on Friday, October 31, 2025, in Plattsburgh. She was born January 8, 1936 in Plattsburgh, the daughter of Emile and Bernadette (Breyette) Carpentier.

 

Dawn graduated in 1954 from Peru Central High school, she continued her education in cosmetology school in Albany, NY. Once she graduated from cosmetology school, she returned home to open her first salon, “Dawn’s Beauty Nook,” in her parent’s home in Cadyville.

 

She married the love of her life, Terry Aubin Sr. on October 26,1957, at St. James Church in Cadyville, NY. She continued working out of her parent’s home until they built their own home where she then continued building her business. She worked from her home for over 30 years while raising her family of three children.

 

Dawn was an avid camper, traveler and boater. She traveled to a few European countries twice and all across the United States.

 

She is survived by her three children, Melody and her spouse Perry Trombley, Terry Jr.  and his spouse Lisa Aubin, Timmy and his spouse Michele Aubin. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Amanda Ross (Cory Ross), Ashley Walter-Gershen (Lawrence Stroebel), Avery Trombley (Paxton Copeland Trombley), Sarah Aubin, Memphis Aubin (Cheyenne), Kelsey Lovely (Ryan Lovely); as well as her great-grandchildren, Teagan Ross, Chase Ross, Cael Ross, Conner Gershen, Jaxen Gershen, Caroline Lovely and Brewer Trombley. As well as many nieces and nephews.

 

She was predeceased by her parents; her brother, Thomas Carpentier; and her beloved husband, Terry Aubin Sr..

 

Calling hours will be held Saturday, November 22, 2025 from 10:00am to 11:00am at St. James Church in Cadyville. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11:00 a.m.
