It is with both sadness and celebration that we announce the passing of Norman H. Longtin, who left this world on November 11, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on January 24, 1939, in Champlain, NY, Norman was a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who embraced life with a warmth and generosity that will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Norman dedicated much of his working life to Loughlin Textiles in Waterford, NY, where he worked as a mill worker in the manufacturing industry. He had a wealth of knowledge and skills, particularly in woodworking, which became a cherished hobby throughout his life. His love for craftsmanship brought joy to his family and friends, as he created beautiful pieces that will be treasured forever.
An avid bowler, Norman was a proud member of bowling leagues, where he forged lasting friendships and created countless memories. His competitive spirit and love for the game reflected his zest for life.
He is survived by his devoted daughters, Anne Marie Longtin (Peter Timmons) and Sharon Trimm, along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will carry his legacy forward in their hearts and actions.
Norman's life will be celebrated in the near future, details of which will be shared in the coming days. Friends and family are invited to gather to honor his memory and the joy he brought into their lives.
The family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to the Elmore SPCA in Peru, NY, to support the well-being of animals in need, a cause dear to Norman's heart.
As we reflect on his remarkable life, we invite everyone to join us in remembering the laughter, the memories, and the love that Norman shared so freely. While he may no longer walk among us, his spirit will live on in the stories told and the love spread by those he leaves behind.
Norman was preceded in death by his parents, Herman Longtin and Ruby (Whiteman) Longtin; a son, David Longtin; a daughter, Tina Marie Lapan; a brother, Richard Longtin; and his longtime companion, Jackie Jerome.
