ELLENBURG CENTER-Patrick Frank Drown, 29, of Ellenburg Center died unexpectedly Tuesday, September 6, 2016.
He was born August 7, 1987 in Plattsburgh, NY to Frank Drown and Haley Wright. Patrick Graduated from Northern Adirondack in 2005. Fresh out of high school he worked at Ellenburg Auto Parts-NAPA, then for a bridge company out of Clifton Park rebuilding the bridge on Canaan Road in Ellenburg Depot. He then became a member of Ironworkers Local 12 Union where he became a foreman in his second year on the job erecting windmills in the Altona Wind Park. And then with great pride, Patrick became a third generation New York State Correction Officer, graduating from Willard Academy in June 2015. He was currently working at Clinton Correctional Facility. Patrick enjoyed spending time with family and friends and being outdoors. He had an unforgettable smile and smiling Irish eyes. Wherever he was there was sure to be a good time. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him could easily see that he had a heart of gold. You could always count on him for a long visit and a good laugh.
Patrick is survived by his father and stepmother, Frank and Lori Drown and his mother and stepfather, Haley and Dean Spoor; his three sisters and their husbands, Kristin and Steven Bartlemus, Bethany and Bryant Fortin and Brynn and Shane Ghostlaw; Grandparents, Susan and Leon Rabideau; step grandparents, Melvin and Susan Spoor and Dennis and Phyllis LaBombard; aunts and uncles, Bradley and Kim Wright, Ann and Todd Meier; cousins, Ashton Wright, Megan Burson and Brandon Meier; his nephew and best little buddy, Hayden Bartlemus; his niece, Ainsley Ghostlaw and a niece that will soon be arriving, Brayley Fortin; his companion Stephanie Bracy and her three children whom he adored, Aiden, Riley and Ella.
He is predeceased by his paternal grandparents, L. Frank and Merideth Drown, his maternal grandfather, James Wright, his uncle Larry Drown and his aunt Tammy Drown, who held a special place in his heart.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ross Funeral Home. Calling hours will be Friday, September 9, 2016 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Ross Memorial Hall, 5059 Route 11 Ellenburg Depot. A funeral will be held at the Wesleyan Church in Ellenburg Depot on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 10:30 a.m.
There will be a reception following at the Ellenburg Depot Fire Station. Donations in Patrick's memory may be made to the Ellenburg Depot Fire Department.
