Richard E. Laurin, 85 of Chazy passed away Thursday, December12, 2019 at his home.
He was born June 11, 1934 in Chazy, the son of Anthime and Eva (Tetreault) Laurin. He married the love of his life, Betty April 28, 1956 in St. Joseph’s Church in Mooers. He worked at Harris Graphics in Champlain. He then opened Clinton Farm Supply in Champlain. Richard was a mentor to his college roommate and his many nephews. He was very involved in his community; he was a member of the Knights of Columbus; President of St. Joseph’s Parish Council; one of the founders of Northern Tier Senior Housing; Owner of Clinton Farm Supply and voted Citizen of the year in Rouses Point.
Richard is predeceased by his parents; his father in law and mother in law, Edgar and Della Morgan; four brothers and their wives, Armand and Rita Laurin, Marcel and Beulah Laurin, Francis and Rita Laurin, Paul and Angele Laurin; two sisters, Anita Laurin and Theresa Tetreault and her husband Girard; and one son in law, Lee Dupee.
Left to cherish memories of Richard are, his wife, Betty Laurin of Chazy; one son, Randy Laurin of Plattsburgh; one daughter, Diane Laurin of West Chazy; one brother, Walter Laurin and his wife Rita Rae of Chazy; one grand-dog, Zorro and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund, the CVPH Foundation, the Heart Association, Elmore SPCA or the ARC Foundation.
Calling hours will be Friday, December 20, 2019 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Ross funeral Home in Mooers. A Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Oratory in Coopersville. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Coopersville in the spring.
