Robert “Bob” Leo Laware Sr., 77 of Plattsburgh, New York passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday December 10th, 2024 at the UVM Medical Center, in Vermont.

He was born in Scranton, PA on February 24, 1947. The son of the late Leo and Clare (Malloy) Laware.
Robert grew up in Redford. He was a Vietnam veteran serving in the United States Army and honorably discharged in 1974. Moving to Cadyville after marrying the late Judy H. Provost. He retired from Corcraft at Clinton Correctional Facility in 2009 after 26 years.  After retirement, he took pride in driving truck at his son’s construction business, where he worked right up to the day of his hospital stay.

Bob always had a smile on his face and a cup of dunkin coffee in his hand.  Rarely caught without his signature durag on his head.  He would take anyone up on the opportunity for a long car ride.  He enjoyed dancing and seeing the "Busco Bandits.  Always loved attending car shows, and ripping around in his 1971 Pontiac Lemans. 

Left to cherish the memory of Bob are two sisters; Clare “Punkin” (Bob) Pelkey and Ethel “Sadie” Wright.
Two sons, Robert (Sarah) Laware Jr. and Joshua (Susan) Laware.

His Grandchildren; Sarah "Lynne" Laware (Matt Parker), Jesse Collins (Elora Lacy), Hunter Laware, Bryce Laware, Kayla (Kiel) Stoughton, Chelsey (Jordon) Darrah, and Alison Daust.(Rich Bushey)
Great Grandchildren; Haiden Waldron, Riley Gadway, Emmalyn Terry, Wyatt & Bennett Collins, Hudson, Henry & Isla Stoughton, Ryder Passino, Jackson Kasprzak, Colton & Kennedy Darrah, Charlee, Harper & Nash Daust.


Robert was predeceased by his parents; Leo and Clare Laware, brother in law; Greg Wright, cousin/best friend; Charlie “Junior” Partridge and the love of his life; Patricia St. Mary


A celebration of life will be held at the Saranac American Legion Post 1618, 275 Wilson Road, on Saturday December 21st, 2024 at 1:00 pm with the funeral to be held in Spring 2025.
