Roland Peryea, aged 71, of Altona, NY, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2024. Born on January 6,1953, to William and Geneva Peryea, Roland spent his life dedicated to his family and community.

A devoted husband to his high school sweetheart, Star, Roland was a loving father to April (Aaron) Bush and Angel Poupore. Roland and Star celebrated 53 years of marriage, a testament to their lifelong commitment and love. His commitment to family was evident in the joy he took in the lives of his grandchildren—Cassidy (Amanda) Patnode, Hunter Favreau, Kendall (Anthony) Bush, Keshia (Jimmy) Poupore, and Aizlyn Poupore —and his great-grandchildren, Eli Siskavich and Paxton Patnode. The family is expecting the joyous arrival of his great-granddaughter, Daliah Marie Lapoint, in September 2024.

In addition to his immediate family, Roland is survived by several brothers and sisters, along with many nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss his presence deeply. 

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Jason Myatt for his unwavering support and assistance whenever it was needed. Jason’s presence and help were invaluable during Roland’s later years and have been a great comfort to the family.

Roland worked diligently for over twenty years as a construction worker at Conroy & Conroy, where he built not just structures but lasting friendships and a respected legacy.

An enthusiastic member of the North Country Mustangs Club, Roland cherished the camaraderie found in car shows and the honor of participating in parades for the North Country Honor Flight. His passion for the outdoors was shared with his close friends, Darrel Myatt and Jeff, and his son-in-law, Aaron, with one of his proudest moments being when he achieved his dream of shooting an eight-pointer.

Roland’s life was marked by his unwavering support and presence at every significant family milestone, and his memory will continue to inspire all who knew him.

The family finds comfort in knowing that Roland is now in heaven, reunited with his best friend, Jim Merrihew. Their enduring friendship was a source of great joy and support throughout Roland's life, and the family takes solace in the thought of their joyful reunion.

Calling hours will be held on August 7, 2024 from 2-4 p.m. at the Ross Funeral Home, 2586 Route 11, Mooers, NY.  A reception will immediately follow at the QWL Building, Irona Road, Altona, NY.
