It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marie Dupee, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, who left this world on March 21, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on November 29, 1939, in Champlain, NY, Marie lived a life full of love, compassion, and service to her community.
Marie was a dedicated homemaker who proudly nurtured her family. She is survived by her son, Neil Dupee; daughters, Julie Frennier and Tami Richer and her husband, Dave; daughter-in-law Diane Laurin; grandchildren, Sarah Richer and her boyfriend, Adam Keough, Dawn Richer, Christiana Jones and her husband, Chris Jones, Adam Frennier and his wife, Nicole, and Cale Frennier and his wife, Savanah; five great-grandchildren and several close friends who will carry on her legacy. Her family was the center of her world, and her impact on their lives will be felt for generations to come.
A woman of many talents, Marie donned several hats throughout her life. In addition to being a loving mother, she worked as a bookkeeper for Leo Boucher and served as the Tax Collector for the Town of Champlain. Her spirit of giving was evident in her many charitable endeavors, including making lap robes for various organizations. A devoted member of St. Mary's Church, she devoted many years to counting money and selling tickets for church events, embodying her faith in action. Marie was also a proud member of the Catholic Daughters, the Red Hat Society, and embraced her role as a Girl Scout Leader and Cookie Chairman, inspiring kindness and joy in young hearts.
Marie's passions included knitting, crocheting, and indulging in her love of reading. The warmth of her home during the Christmas season will forever be a cherished memory for all who knew her.
Visitation will take place at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Church in Champlain on March 27, 2026, allowing friends and family to pay their final respects. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the American Heart Association, the Alzheimer’s Association, or Champlain EMS, honoring Marie's memory by supporting causes close to her heart.
Marie Dupee will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and community service will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Dora Glaude, her husband, Leon Dupee; a son, Lee Dupee; a sister Andrea Hayward; her brother-in-law, Henry Hayward; and son-in-law, Ron Frennier.
