Shantel Lynn LaFountain, 26, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 23, 2024. She was predeceased by her maternal grandmother, Sandra LaGoy and her paternal grandparents, Madeline and Elmer LaFountain as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. 

Shantel is survived by her daughter, Ryleigh Jean Weightman; her maternal grandfather, Wallace LaGoy; her mother, Ellen LaGoy; her father, Terry LaFountain; her sister, Stephanie LaFountain; her niece, Avalynn Cole; nephew, Braxton Cole; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. 

Shantel was an avid collector of all things Jack and Sally from A Nightmare Before Christmas, clothes, and knives. She loved being and doing things outside including riding four wheelers, mudbogging, and working on vehicles. 

Shantel had a passion for life and a huge heart. She was always there for those who needed her and would help in any way she could, including adopting any and all animals that needed her. Her love for her family and friends, but most especially her daughter was unparalleled. 

A celebration of her life is planned for Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 1pm, at her grandfather’s home on Jerusalem Road. A Facebook event with more details will be forthcoming in the next few days.
