Sherrie Diane (Dufour) Stone, 76 of Chazy passed away Monday, July18, 2022 at the UVM Health Network at CVPH in Plattsburgh.
She was born November 28, 1945, the daughter of Francis (Fritz) and Thelma (Lafave) Rabideau. She married William (Billy) Stone Jr. November 16, 1968. They have been married for 53 years. She enjoyed going to BINGO with her mother and sister for many years. Bill and Sherrie loved going to the casino and liked to vacation in Lake George, NY every year. Sherrie enjoyed watching NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt was her favorite driver. Sherrie enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She liked doing her yard work and going for walks. She worked at Wyeth-Ayerst for 20 years and was the bookkeeper for Stone’s Milk Hauling. Sherrie volunteered at church with dinners and walking kids to religion.
She was predeceased by her parents, her daughter, Amy Stone; one brother, Michael Dufour; a sister, Sue Jodoin; niece, Jamie Billings; her in laws, William and Irene Stone and her sister in law, Lorraine Porter.
Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Jason Stone of Mooers Forks and a daughter, Angela Stone and her partner, Brian Boyer of Morrisonville; her grandchildren, Mark, Samantha, Justin, Andrew, Brian Jr. and Kelsie; two brothers, Pete and Bev Dufour of Plattsburgh and Jim and Donna Rabideau of Mooers Forks; five sisters, Jeannie (Brad) Duprey of Chazy, Donna Darling of Rouses Point, Mary (Darwin) Myatt of Mooers Forks, Jody (Steve) Winnie of Rensselaer, NY, Pam (Gale) Trepanier of Hemmingford, Quebec; brothers in law, David Jodoin and David and Cathy Stone. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews; her aunt, Sally Connors; her uncle Steve and aunt Nancy Lafave.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 2:00-5:00 at the Ross Funeral Home in Mooers. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, July 25, 2022 at Sacred Heart Church in Chazy at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow in the Town of Ellenburg Mausoleum. A reception will follow in the Gold Room at Rainbow Wedding and Banquet Hall.
