Stephen Garceau Obituary

CHAMPLAIN-Stephen Rene Garceau, 44 of Champlain, NY passed away unexpectedly while changing his tractor trailer tire in Ashland, OH on August 22, 2017. 

Stephen was born November 11, 1972 in Plattsburgh, NY to Ubald and Theresa Garceau.  He resided in Champlain his entire life. 

He always lived life to the fullest.  He would always say that his greatest moments spent were with his only son, Cameron, whom he was so proud of.  He loved the open road and driving his tractor trailer across the country while working for Watson Trucking Company out of Montreal.  His passion was going on adventures with friends on his Harley Davidson. 

Growing up, Stephen loved working alongside his father with their family business, Garceau Excavation.  Stephen was a master equipment operator.  He also worked many years at his family's Sunoco business.  While home, Stephen enjoyed working with his beloved brother, Ricky at Garceau's Auto Sales.

Stephen is survived by his and Hope Golden's loving son, Cameron Garceau of West Chazy.  He is also survived by his companion, Nicole Trombley of Champlain, NY; one brother, Ricky Garceau and his wife Carol of Champlain, NY; their children, Jennifer Guay and her husband, Danny of Rouses Point, NY, Brandon Garceau and Joshua Garceau of Plattsburgh, NY; one sister, Linda Bond and her husband, Rocky of Champlain, NY, Rocky was like a brother to him; their children, Gena Lagree and her husband Kenny of Fillmore, CA, Cassandra Dragoon and her husband Ben of Altona, NY; God daughter, Courtney Bond and her fiancAC. Cody Trombley of Mooers, NY.  Stephen is also survived by many great nieces and nephews who he adored. 

He was predeceased by his wonderful parents, Ubald and Theresa Garceau.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at the Ross Funeral Home in Mooers from 2:00-5:00, followed by a funeral service at the funeral home and interment in St. Mary's Cemetery in Champlain.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Plattsburgh College Foundation, to benefit the Fitness and Wellness Leadership program.
