Theodore T. Carter Obituary

Theodore (Ted) T. Carter passed away peacefully on June 27, 2021. Born in Plattsburgh, NY on August 10, 1944 to Theodore and Marge Carter, Ted was able to return to the area he called “home” within the last couple years and was able to reconnect with family before his passing. Ted served in the Korean War with the U.S. Army and upon returning home began a life-long career with the Track Department of Amtrak in Rensselaer, New York. Ted is survived by his children Melissa (Greg) Lavalley of Mooers, NY, Westly (Carol) McNamara of Cypress, Texas, Travis (Kendra) of Plant City, Florida, Jodi (Ron) Barnes of Middleburgh, NY and Jessica Carter of Northville, NY, several grandchildren, a great granddaughter, several brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his true love, trusty companion and begging side-kick Shorty. A military honor graveside service will be held Thursday, August 26, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Augustine’s Church, Peru, New York.
