LYON MOUNTAIN-Thomas "Chesty" Alexander, 82 of Lyon Mountain passed away Thursday, August 18, 2016 at the CVPH Medical Center.

He was born October 29, 1933 in Lyon Mountain, the son of Clifford and Ella Mae (Davis) Alexander. He loved, hunting and fishing. He loved to socialize, spending time with family and baking bread.

Chesty was predeceased by his parents, his wife, Diane Lennox Alexander who passed away in 2006; one son, Michael Alexander; three brothers, James, Robert and Joseph and one sister Frances. He is also predeceased by one grandchild, Courtney Alexander.

Survivors include, two sons, Paul Alexander and his companion, Joanna Bein of Riverview, Peter Alexander of Standish; one daughter, Patricia Stoddard and her husband Scott of Winthrop; one brother, Donald Alexander and his wife Gina of Indiana; one sister, Freida Whitfield of Lyon Mountain; 10 grandchildren, Chelsea Alexander, Michael Alexander, Amber Bell, Daniel Bell, Michael Bell, Scott Clark, Brian Stoddard, Katelyn Clark, Kristen Gunderson and McKayla Gunderson. He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren and a close family friend, Curt "Metal Man" Givinter.

Calling hours will be Monday, August 22, 2016 from 11:00-1:00 at St. Bernard's Church in Lyon Mountain. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. at St. Bernard's Church. Donations in his memory may be made to the Lyon Mountain Rescue Squad.
